Repeat Prescriptions

We are only able to prescribe medication to animals registered to SPA Vets, and regular re-examinations are required by law.

We kindly ask that any repeat medications, including flea and worm treatments, are ordered in advance.  Please use the form below to request repeat prescriptions if your pet requires their medication. Please use the 'Any other comments' box to pick your surgery for collection (Painswick Road or Quedgeley).

Alternatively, you can call the usual number (01452 529480 for our Painswick Road surgery or 01452 883727 for our Quedgeley branch) and select Option 2. Leave your name, your pet's name, the first line of your address and the medication you require. The actual drug names are not necessary; 'Fido’s flea tablets' or 'Kitty’s thyroid treatment' is all we require.

We ask that you give us 24 hours before collecting (or 48 hours for ‘controlled’ drugs such as epilepsy treatments, tranquilisers, etc.).

Unfortunately, we are unable to call you when the prescriptions are ready for collection and we will only call you back if there is a query with your request- if you do not hear from us, you can assume the prescription will be ready to collect the following day.

Thank you for your co-operation; it makes the process much smoother for us all.

Prescriptions are available from this practice.
You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a written prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
The veterinary surgeon may prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products only following a clinical assessment of an animal under their care.
A written prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.
You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.
The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions for supplies of relevant veterinary medicinal products every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for a re-examination is £43.93.
Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
