The Directors and Staff at SPA Vets take your privacy very seriously and make every effort to obtain your personal data accurately, handle it responsibly and keep it secure. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes or inaccuracies and we will ask you to check the data we hold about you on a regular basis. The following sets out how we use your data and includes use of our website too. We have followed existing Data Protection 1998 guidelines and incorporated new aspects of the GDPR 2018.
Cookies are small files saved to the hard drive of the user’s device, which track, save and store information regarding the user’s interactions and usage of the website. This enables the website, through its server, to produce a more tailored experience for site users.
Other cookies may be stored to your device hard drive by external vendors should this website use sponsored links, referral services or adverts. These cookies track visitor conversion and referral and tend to expire after 30 days, although some may take longer to expire. None of the user’s personal information shall be gathered or stored.
Our website is to provide general information about our Practice and may change content from time to time without notice. You use this website (and Social media platforms*) entirely at your own risk and you must be fully aware of the potential harm when using external links as we cannot vouch for their accuracy or security. Any link does not imply that SPA vets endorses such content. Users of our website must not copy images, its layout or its graphics as these may infringe copyright. If you register to use our services online, whether as a new client or to any other service eg email newsletters, you agree to us holding submitted information for the purposes intended only ie to communicate with you directly regarding care of your animal.
*Social Media SPA Vets may interact with you using external social media services and you should be aware of your general responsibilities when doing so. You should be clear about each platform’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy details and understand that we will never share your personal details or discuss sensitive aspects in this way.
We may also wish to communicate with you regarding treatment reminders, marketing of products and services, and for our Pet Care Club but you will be asked to opt in to receiving communications for these purposes.
We will hold your data securely electronically and physically and will not share it with a third party except for the stated circumstances in our Terms and Conditions. In summary this will be when referring a case to another vet, when communicating with our legal advisors and regulatory body, with your Pet Insurance company, when you move to a different Practice and when legally required to do so. Personal information will be deleted soon after it is no longer required.
