Our Practice

S.P.A. Vets (formerly Stewart, Pigott and Alderman) was established in 1969 by Bill Stewart and has grown into a 6-vet, companion animal practice.  We have two premises; our main surgery on Painswick Road, and our branch surgery in Quedgeley. We are a friendly, caring practice and we offer a first-class service to our clients and their pets.

We have 6 vets including the two Directors,  Clare Morrison and Becky O'Dowd. Our associate, Steve Parker has been with us since 1997 and our other associates, Louise Baxter and Kirsten Wilkinson, joined us in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Long standing locum, Tania Ball, has joined the ranks of full-time employee as of April 2023. We are also fortunate to have the help of part-time vets Cliff Alderman and Liz Tillott. If you have a preference as to which vet you would like to see, we will try our best to arrange this for you. If there is a problem that is beyond our expertise then we will be happy to refer your pet to a specialist veterinary surgeon.

We have a team of  nine able and dedicated nurses, all of whom look after for your pets whilst they with us; caring for hospitalised patients, monitoring anaesthetics and generally keeping the place clean and tidy. We also have five receptionists and seven trainee nurses working alongside our nursing team.

In order to offer the best care, our practice is a Training Practice for veterinary nurses. We are able to train and obtain the best from our nurses. Nurse consults are available on subjects such as, weight checks, dental checks, flea and worm advice, problem behaviour and much more. If you are interested in any of the above please phone and speak to a nurse.
